National Honor Society

National Honor Society is a nationwide organization that recognizes students for demonstrating excellence in character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
NHS is open to students in 11th and 12th grade.

Eligibility:
-All members must maintain a 3.5 unweighted and 3.75 weighted GPA
-All members must complete 10 service hours each semester, 5 of which come from NHS sponsored activities
-Members must attend all meetings
-Members are expected to turn in service hour documentation by the end of 1st and 2nd semester
-There are dues of $15 that all members must pay

Membership:
Students that are eligible, are invited to apply during the fall of their Junior year. Applications are collected, reviewed, and membership is awarded. Students are inducted as a class during the fall of 11th grade.
Students must meet all eligibility expectations to maintain good standing and remain active members during their senior year.

12th grade NHS Members in good standing following the second semester of their senior year will receive NHS honor cords to wear at graduation.
