PROUD Organization Attends Storm Leadership Conference

On Friday, February 15th, five students from Roosevelt attended the Simpson College Storm Leadership Conference at Simpson College in Indianola, IA.

The students joined high school students from around the state and were led through several break out sessions where they were allowed to explore their leadership style, work with others in their group to construct a free-standing balloon tower using only balloons and tape, and work with others in solving a problem presented to their group. They also heard from a panel of Simpson graduates who are current leaders in their communities.

Their day closed with a panel of Simpson students who shared their leadership experiences as a college student.

The Roosevelt students in attendance were Lizet Bonilla, Dajaner Brown, Danny Sanchez, Malik Shavers and Jessica Shedd. All of these students are members of Roosevelt’s PROUD organization.
