ACT for Juniors on Wednesday


Juniors: Bring your Photo ID,#2 pencils & calculator for the ACT exam on Wednesday, 4/23/2014.  No classes for 9th, 10th &12th grade students.  On Thursday, Juniors stay home and everyone else comes; 9th and 10th take ACT Plan and Explore tests- Seniors choose AP prep & study for finals or Community service.

Burke Signs Letter of Intent for Western Kentucky


Senior Murphy Burke signed a national letter of intent with Western Kentucky University today.  Burke is the daughter of Stephanie Pruesch and Bernie Burke.  She is a 3-time individual state champion in debate and is currently ranked 24th in the nation in Original Oratory. Roosevelt Student Stars in ‘Pinkalicious’


Roosevelt A.P. student and senior Connor Bredbeck proves you can do it all. In addition to his long list of Advanced Placement classes, he’s also starring in the Des Moines Playhouse’s new musical, Pinkalicious. The musical runs April 25 – May 18. Connor was interviewed by WHO-TV 13 this month about Advanced Placement when Roosevelt made the Washington Post’s list of the nation’s most challenging high schools.


Sharks Since 1926


Sharks have done it again!  Putting on a fantastic show of strength, grace, timing, teamwork and hold-your-breath pageantry!  The team has logged more than 440 hours of philanthropic service in addition to preparing for the show and being excellent scholars! Students experience the Construction Expo

Heritage Spanish Class Watches Biography


 Ms. Euken’s Heritage Spanish class culminated their study of the history of the U.S. migrant worker program by watching the just released biography of Cesar Chavez whose struggles on behalf of the migrant workers have been lauded by JFK, the Pope  among others and resulted in Mr. Chavez being awarded the United States Medal of Freedom.  Si se puede!

Senior Events and Information

Graduation is May 24, 2014!  Check out college information under the Academics tab on the menu bar above (Academics > Counseling > Counseling PLC).  Transcript request forms are under the STUDENT tab– first 5 are free with an addressed stamped envelope; $2 per transcript after request number 5.  A Seniors 2014 folder under the Student tab will be coming soon.  Forms for college visits, the senior calendar , deadline infomation,  important announcements for students and families for the Class of 2014 will be posted under the Student tab as it becomes available.  Check regularly!
