CALLING IN ABSENCES. Whenever a student is going to be absent from school for any reason, a parent or guardian is to call the attendance desk (242-7273) within 24 hours to verify the absence. (An answering machine will be on from 3:00p.m. until 7:15 a.m. and all weekend.) Messages may be left on the attendance voice mail system. The voice mail system is constantly monitored throughout the day. Notes will also be accepted.

NOTE: An absence can be verified and not be excluded. For example, a parent calls to say a student would be absent because of illness but did not go to the doctor.

MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS & ATTENDANCE Parents may call the school attendance office at 242-7273 prior to a medical appointment to have their student excused. The attendance clerk will prepare a pass for your student, the student shows this to the classroom teacher, reports to the Attendance Office to sign out, and meets the parent in the parking lot. The student must then bring a note from the doctor to sign back in. You may leave a message on the voice mail with the student’s name, ID number, the time they need to leave, and the type of appointment. The voice mail is monitored all day long.
