Roosevelt Senior Wins Yale Forensics Tourney

Roosevelt senior Jacob Thompson won first place at the Yale University Invitational, where he competed in Extemporaneous Speaking against 114 competitors. Jacob is ranked as one of the top high school extemporaneous speakers in the U.S. and was last year’s state champion Congressional debater, state champion in Extemporaneous Speaking, and third place finisher at the national championship.

The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt auditorium.  A light reception will follow in the library.  Students apply and must qualify in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service.

Academic Letter Award Ceremony

The Academic Letter Award Ceremony will be held on Monday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt auditorium.  A light reception will follow in the library.  Qualifying letter recipients, carrying a 3.5 g.p.a. for two semesters in a row,  received their invitations in the mail earlier this month.

Conversations with the Principal and PTA Meetings!

Join us for the PTA-sponsored Conversations with the Principal!  Different school topics will be discussed at each meeting with time for questions.  The gatherings will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with the PTA meeting following from 6:30-7:00 p.m. in the library on September 20, November 15, January 17, and April 18.  All are welcome to attend!
